Two elegant standing stones, each around three metres tall and set roughly three metres apart in a field near South Stack — some 4,000 years old, and said to have once formed part of a stone circle. They photograph beautifully with a low sun and Holyhead Mountain behind. It's a two-minute stop, easily rolled into a visit to South Stack lighthouse and the hut circles on the mountain. Free and open.

Penrhos Feilw Standing Stones is in Holy Island, Anglesey, Anglesey (Ynys Môn). It's roughly 7 min (1.3 miles) from Holyhead , and within reach of Trearddur Bay (9 min) and Benllech (51 min).
