The best-preserved ancient village in North Wales — a walled Romano-British settlement of stone roundhouses and rectangular workshops tucked into a copse near Moelfre, dating largely from the 4th century AD. It feels genuinely lost in time, half-hidden among the trees. From the same lay-by you can make a trio of it, adding the nearby Lligwy Neolithic burial chamber and the ruined medieval Capel Lligwy. All are free and open, and the Moelfre coast path is minutes away.
Getting there
Din Lligwy Ancient Village is in Moelfre, Anglesey, Anglesey (Ynys Môn). It's roughly 10 min (2.3 miles) from Benllech , and within reach of Beaumaris (28 min) and Menai Bridge (29 min).
The nearest parking: Roadside parking area on the Lligwy lane near Moelfre. Grid reference SH 501 853 — works on any OS map and doesn't need a phone signal.
