Bala
A friendly Welsh-speaking town at the head of Llyn Tegid, the largest natural lake in Wales. Bala is watersports country — sailing, paddleboarding and the white water of the Tryweryn — with the Aran and Berwyn mountains rising on either side and a narrow-gauge steam railway running down the lakeshore.
