One of the traditional Seven Wonders of Wales, and the tallest waterfall in the country — the water plunging some 73 metres through a natural rock arch at the head of a remote Berwyn valley. A long single-track lane leads in from Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant to a tea room at the base, with a steep path climbing to the top for the energetic. It's utterly magical, and never quite as busy as it deserves. Parking is paid.
Getting there
Pistyll Rhaeadr is in Berwyn Mountains, Dee Valley & the Berwyn. It's roughly 27 min (8.6 miles) from Corwen , and within reach of Bala (30 min) and Llangollen (35 min).
The nearest parking: Car park at the falls (£) or free lay-bys down the lane. Grid reference SJ 075 294 — works on any OS map and doesn't need a phone signal.
