A tiny 13th-century stone chapel jammed into a cleft in the limestone sea cliffs, reached by worn, uneven steps down the rock, with the waves booming below and the wild Castlemartin coast running off in both directions. It sits on the Castlemartin military firing range, so check the red-flag firing times before you go — the access road closes when firing is on. There are no facilities; it's simply wild and atmospheric. Free.

St Govan's Chapel is in Bosherston, Pembrokeshire, Pembrokeshire. It's roughly 18 min (5.2 miles) from Pembroke , and within reach of Tenby (33 min) and St Davids (67 min).
